Gold Recycling
Do you have gold jewelry that is no longer worn? At CdK, we believe recycled gold is the heart of sustainable craftsmanship. We offer two ways to repurpose your old gold into a new jewel, reducing the need for traditional gold mining and supporting a more circular gold supply. Whether it is old gold, family gold, or heritage gold – these inherited or gifted pieces carry stories within them that deserve to be carried with you.
option 1
Incorporate Your Gold Into a New CDK Piece
Gold with a story deserves a second chapter. If your gold carries emotional value, we can help you turn it into something new—without losing its meaning.
This is jewelry recycling at its most personal. We decide together how to work with your gold scrap – whether melting it down through traditional smelting or reimagining the original shape. Our process of intuitive customization ensures the final piece reflects your vision.
The cost is often similar to creating a new CdK piece, as working with old gold is a delicate craft. But what you gain is something truly personal.
option 2
Trade-In for a Discount on a New CDK Piece
If your gold holds less personal significance, trading it in is a cost-effective way to create a new piece.
Bring your gold to our store, where we will assess its quality and weight. We use the karat system to determine the purity of your items – whether they are 14k, 18k, or 24k gold. The gold price and the net weight of your pieces will then be deducted from the price of your new CdK jewel.
Next, for gold that is not being directly reused in our workshop, the material is sent to our supplier – a certified precious metals refinery. Through professional gold refining, the material is purified and reintroduced into the supply chain as high-quality recycled gold.
This process helps balance global gold demand responsibly, ensuring that gold recovery stays ethical and efficient.
Why we prioritize Gold Recycling
While gold mining remains a primary source of metal, it often has a high environmental impact. By focusing on gold recycling methods, like reclaiming gold from existing jewelry, we can create beautiful things without the need for new extraction. Whether it is through a precious metals refinery or our own workshop, we ensure your gold meets the highest standards of purity and value.
We invite you to explore the best gold recovery options for your specific case.

At CdK, we are committed to transparency in how we handle precious metals.
The Lifecycle of Recycled Gold
Gold is reclaimed from existing sources rather than mined from the earth. This includes traditional jewelry recycling, alongside urban mining, the essential modern process of recovering gold from electronic waste, circuit boards, and electrical scrap.
Precision & Purity
Every gram is accounted for using the karat system (from 14k/18k alloys to pure 24k). We use fire assay analysis to measure exact gold content before materials are sent to a certified refinery to be separated from impurities.
Market & Sustainability
Refining results in high-purity gold bars or grains ready for new jewelry. This sustainable loop directly responds to global gold demand; as market prices rise, the incentive for efficient gold recovery increases.
