Terms of service
These terms and conditions apply to any action taken to purchase a piece of the brand – Charlotte de Koomen Jewelry ( or "CdK"). By ordering an article we both agree to the terms and conditions, and we are responsible to follow them.
All legal relations are exclusively governed by the Dutch law.
Uniqueness
Due to the nature of work and the special techniques that are used, all of the items are entirely handmade and therefore there will always be some variations between pieces. Each item can vary slightly from the photograph or from its original draft previously made.
Adaptation or exchange of your order
If the order that you received does not meet your expectations, please notify us within 7 days after receiving your order. We do not do refunds, but we are more than happy to see if we can still adapt the item that you bought (for example changing the size) or to exchange it for another item. If you think there is something wrong with the quality of the delivered jewel we will evaluate the issue and adapt the jewel when this is indeed the case.
Please notify CdK within 7 days after delivery at info@charlottedekoomen.com. We will provide you with the full address. Within 10 days after receiving the jewelry, we expect your item to be back with us and we will review your returned item on the following:
- The item(s) must be in original condition and cannot been worn or damaged;
- It should include the original and undamaged packaging.
Shipping costs for returning the item(s) to CdK for an exchange are not covered or reimbursed by us. Please note we are unable to be held liable for the loss of your jewel(s) being returned. We recommend using a registered postal service to return goods, and keeping a record of the tracking details.
Any item that is especially made for you, is non-exchangeable. These items are designed and crafted to order and therefore exchanges are not offered for change of mind. If you think there is something wrong with the quality of the item we will evaluate the issue and adapt the jewel when this is indeed the case.
Cancellation of your order
If you wish to change or cancel your order please make sure to notify us within 48 hours after placing the order. Send an email to CdK at info@charlottedekoomen.com. We can cancel your order and refund any payments that were already made.
When notifying us later than 48 hours, it is possible that the crafting process has already started or the order is already on its way to you. If this is the case, we cannot refund your payments but you can adapt or exchange the item for another item from CdK.
Shipping
At CdK we craft to order. After receiving your order we start the crafting process, which usually takes 6 to 8 weeks. If you need a piece before a specific date, please contact CdK before ordering to ensure this is possible.
We use PostNL registered and insured delivery services to ship the package to you. This means the package is always insured by PostNL. We will share the track and trace code with you after delivering it to the post office for shipping.
Duties and taxes
Occasionally, dependent on the country that you live in and the relevant import laws, other duties and taxes may be payable. As the recipient, you are liable for all import duties, customs and local sales taxes levied by the country you are shipping to; payment of these is necessary to release your order from customs on arrival.
Damages
As we hope this never happens, but if you do receive a damaged package, or a fault occurs, please contact us immediately at info@charlottedekoomen.com so we can personally assist you and sort out your problem as quickly as possible.
Repairs
Repairs are available and assessed per case. Please contact CdK at info@charlottedekoomen.com and request your repair. Once we received the request Charlotte will assess the repair needed and advise within 2-3 working days. Before starting on the repair, Charlotte will inform you about the next steps and costs.
Resizing
Should a purchased piece require resizing, please contact info@charlottedekoomen.com for instructions. You will be responsible for all postage & redelivery charges for resizing. A resizing fee will apply which is quoted on a case by case basis depending on the piece. If you are unsure about which size to order before purchasing, please contact us for assistance.
Payment
Items like these ask for secure payment methods. In our webshop we accept iDeal, Visa and Mastercard. These are secure and accessible payment methods.
Privacy
Any information provided by you is protected. We fully appreciate and respect the importance of privacy on the internet and will not share or sell your personal information with anyone. If you have opted in for marketing communication when creating an account, or subscribed to the newsletter, we may use your contact information to update you about new products, features or special promotions. If you wish not to receive such communications, you may choose un-subscribe in our newsletter emails.
Cookies
Our website uses "cookies", text files that are placed on your computer. We use this information to analyze how our customers use the website. We also use cookies for you as a customer, because then you do not have to re-enter data. Cookies do not endanger the security of your computer. We distinguish between different types of cookies:
Functional cookies are used to make our website work properly. An example of a functional cookie is adding your products to your shopping cart. Also remembering whether or not you are logged into our website is captured in a functional cookie. We do not need to ask for your permission to place these cookies.
Analytical cookies are cookies that are placed with which user data can be collected on an anonymous basis. These cookies are placed by Google Analytics. We do not need to ask your permission to place these cookies.

Copyright pictures and texts
All pictures, promotional texts and images displayed on the website of Charlotte de Koomen Jewelry – www.charlottedekoomen.com – are copyrighted. These cannot be used by others without a written permission from Charlotte de Koomen or her team.
Use of the items and warranty
All of the pieces made by CdK are fine and delicate and should be handled and worn with care. The warranty is void if the product shows a defect which is caused by improper use, if you or others have made or attempted to make changes to the product or used it in a way for which the article is not intended. CdK cannot be held liable for any losses of complete jewelry or parts of the jewelry like stones or charms. A loss is always based on multiple factors and cannot indicate the quality of the work or the way it has been made by CdK.
We are also just human
Being able to make this AMAZINGLY beautiful jewelry doesn’t mean we are from outer space. Items or posts that accidentally show an incorrect price – and it’s clear that it is a mistake – we have the right to adapt. Even when you already ordered the article.
